Boswellia is a genus of trees known for their fragrant resin which has many pharmacological uses particularly as anti-inflammatories. Useful especially with the treatment of Arthritis. Boswellia serrata (frankincense) has been found to be as successful at reducing pain and inflammation caused by arthritis as conventional painkillers.

The primary component of the extract is boswellic acid, which studies show has anti-inflammatory effects through several actions. It is usually combined with other herbs in joint supplements.

Boswellia also supports a healthy digestive tract , especially the stomach and colon . Also suitable for sensitive horses, as it does not cause abdominal irritation or ulcers.

Boswellia also seems to have a beneficial effect on skin health.

The absorption of Boswellic acid is significantly improved by simultaneously feeding something fat-rich feed, such as chia or hemp seeds.
