Dandelion root promotes the normal wellbeing of horse´s stomach and intestines, normal metabolism and internal organ functions. The inulin starch contained in dandelion root, promotes good intestinal bacteria.

Due to it´s acidity dandelion can be given to whet the appetite.

The root effect is based on dandelion´s bitter substances. The bitter substances contribute to the secretion of stomach fluids and affected digestion. Dandelion root can be given for many digestive care support. Clinical trials have shown the plant to contribute to urinary and biliary excretion.

Dandelion root contains flavonoids, fructose, resin, tarakserolia, pectin, coffee acid, vitamins A, B, C, and D, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and phenolic acids.

The root contains approximately 25% of starch called inulin, which is a natural prebiotic maintaining good intestinal bacteria.

Dandelion is safe to use in larger quantities, but it is not suitable for the horses suffering biliary tract or intestinal blockage.

Dosage:

Horse 500 kg:

1 to 4 tablespoons a day regimen of 10 - 14 days or according to need.

 TIP : Horse´s digestion can be helped by making infusions , which is placed just 50 g of dendelion root powder and 1 liter of water. Foals suffering from digestive disorders can be given infusions of 100 ml at a time, three times a day. 

Allergic horses may get resistance from dandelion , so you should give them dandelion root powder regimenly especially in the spring . 30 g twice a day is a suitable dosage for a adult horse.
