Hemp seed protein contains all the essential amino acids. There are more than 500 kinds of amino acids, of which horses require 21 essential amino acids. A healthy horse body can produce 12 amino acids itself, so the rest of the nine essential amino acids should be obtained from food. Hemp is made up of 65% proteins and 35% albumin, which are of high quality and highly absorbable. Hemp protein, unlike soya, does not contain trypsin inhibitors which are known to hinder the absorption process. . Hemp is high in arginine amino acid which contributes to the formation of nitrogen oxide which is important for a good blood flow. Carbohydrates contained in hemp are all fiber. 24g of fiber is insoluble and 6g is soluble fiber. The rich fiber content helps to balance the stomach function.
