75% Amino Acids
A targeted amino acid solution for horses, produced through natural fermentation
Amino Buddy contains three key amino acids – L-lysine, L-methionine and L-threonine – at exceptionally high concentrations.
All amino acids are provided in their natural L-form, which is the biologically active form utilized by the horse. The amino acids are produced through a natural fermentation process, resulting in pure, precisely defined individual amino acids.
What makes Amino Buddy different?
- 75% amino acids
- Amino acids produced through natural fermentation
- All amino acids in L-form
- Added betaine to complement the formula
- Low sugar and starch content
Betaine and TechnoYeast as part of Amino Buddy
Contains betaine – often referred to as methionine’s “training partner” as part of the overall nutritional balance.
Betaine is involved in normal metabolic processes and forms an important part of the product's nutritional profile. It is also known for its role in normal cellular function and fluid balance.
TechnoYeast is a fermented yeast derivative based on Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It contributes natural umami palatability and complements the formula as a yeast-based ingredient.
Lysine, methionine and threonine are commonly regarded as some of the most important – and often limiting – amino acids in equine nutrition.
When to use Amino Buddy?
- For active, growing and hard-working horses to support muscle development
- To supplement amino acid intake without large amounts of protein feed – a small daily serving is sufficient
- When forage quality and nutrient content vary
- When fine-tuning the nutritional balance of the diet
Special nutritional situations
The importance of amino acids becomes particularly evident when dietary requirements change or when feeding programs are adjusted to meet increasing workloads.
For sport and performance horses, nutrition is often carefully planned and balanced. Targeted supplementation with individual amino acids can help fine-tune the diet to meet specific nutritional needs.
For older horses, both protein quantity and protein quality become increasingly important. Clearly defined individual amino acids can offer a practical way to supplement the diet without unnecessarily increasing total crude protein intake.
Growing horses, as well as pregnant and lactating mares, also have increased nutritional demands, where adequate protein and amino acid intake play an important role as part of a balanced feeding program.

Feeding Instructions
Horse (500 kg)
Daily serving: 20 g
Provides:
- Lysine: 9 g
- Methionine: 3.6 g
- Threonine: 2.4 g
1 tablespoon / 15 ml = approximately 10 g
How much amino acid does a horse need?
The amino acid requirements of a 500 kg horse depend on the overall diet, workload and individual factors.
As a general guideline:
- Lysine: approximately 30–50 g per day
- Methionine: approximately 10–20 g per day
- Threonine: approximately 20–30 g per day
Most of these amino acids are supplied through forage and the base diet, with overall balance being the key factor.
Nutritional Additives
- L-Lysine (3c322) – 450,000 mg/kg
