Finnish flax oil contains plenty of essential omega-fatty acids. Positive effect for the wellbeing of the joints, intestines, mucous membranes, skin and coat of horses and dogs. According to studies conducted in dogs, omega fatty acids can also support the metabolism of the joints in connection with osteoarthritis.
Flax seed oil contains plenty of essential fatty acids. Sufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids is important because they can prevent tissue damage caused by local inflammation and strain. The healthiness of linseed oil is based on the amount of its unsaturated fatty acids. Approximately 60 % of fatty acids of linseed oil are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) belonging to omega-3 fatty acids. Linseed oil also contains vitamins A and E, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and calcium.
The lack of essential fatty acids has been described as affecting e.g. to the condition of the skin and the functioning of the nervous system.
Flaxseed oil is an excellent source of energy. The addition level can be recommended for about 2 - 5 % of feed weight.
