Brewer's Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) for Dogs

Yeast cell fibre structures – beta-glucans and MOS

The cell wall of brewer's yeast naturally contains beta-glucan structures and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS), which are fibre compounds typical of yeast.

Beta-glucans are soluble fibre structures involved in nutrient processing in the digestive tract and the natural functions of the gut.

Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) are fibre structures found on the surface of yeast cells, used in feeding as part of a diet that takes the gut's microbial environment into account. MOS compounds are involved in microbial interactions in the gut and in the utilisation of nutrients.

B vitamins and their nutritional significance

The B vitamins found in brewer's yeast participate in numerous normal metabolic processes in the body. They are related to, for example: energy metabolism, normal function of the nervous system, muscle function, skin and coat structure, and normal cell renewal.

The amino acids in brewer's yeast participate in the formation of the body's protein structures and normal tissue renewal.

Chromium as part of brewer's yeast
