CdG ORGANIC SELENIUM + E contains organic selenium in the form of L-selenomethionine and natural vitamin E in the form of RRR. The product does not contain yeast-based selenium.

Selenium is a trace element that the horse needs daily from its diet. It is part of the body's normal antioxidant system and is associated with normal muscle function.

Natural vitamin RRR-E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and is important for the normal function of muscles and tissues.

Selenium and vitamin E work in synergy in the body. Selenium is involved in antioxidant enzymes and vitamin E protects cell membranes. Together they form a balanced whole that supports normal muscle function and helps maintain the horse's natural vigour.

Adequate intake of selenium and vitamin E is particularly important for horses that are actively moving and exercising, foals in the growth phase and pregnant and lactating mares.

Selenium is also one of the essential trace elements for reproduction and is involved in the normal reproductive functions of the body.

Selenium is naturally scarce in Finnish soils, which is why its supply is typically ensured by supplementary feeding.

Inadequate selenium intake can have an impact on muscle function and the overall vigour of the horse. Therefore, adequate intake of selenium is an important part of a balanced diet.

CdG ORGANIC SELENIUM + E is a combination of berry aronia, which naturally contains vitamins C and E, antioxidants and a high content of polyphenols (including flavonoids). Aronia adds a natural antioxidant complex and a pleasant taste to the product.

Indicative daily requirement of selenium for horses

approximately 0,9-1,5 mg

Dosage

Horses (approx. 500 kg):
1 -2 measures per day mixed with feed.

1 measure ≈ 25 g

• 25 g → about 0,5 mg selenium + 150 IU vitamin E

• 50 g → about 1,0 mg selenium + 300 IU vitamin E

Dosage should take into account the amount of selenium from other dietary sources.

• Total polyphenols: about 1 000-4 000 mg

• Flavonoids: about 800-3 000 mg

Concentrations vary depending on the raw material and the batch.
