CdG COPPER – Chelated Organic Copper for Horses

• Chelated copper
• Easy way to supplement your horse's daily copper intake
• Contains inulin, carrot powder, chelated copper and a pinch of love 🧡

NOTE! NEW RECIPE AND COMPOSITION

CdG COPPER contains chelated amino acid copper in a highly bioavailable form.

Copper is a trace element that horses need daily from their diet. It participates in the function of several enzymes and is involved in many normal metabolic processes in the body.

Copper is part of the normal structure of connective tissue and elastic tissues, and is also involved in collagen formation. In addition, copper plays a role in the body's normal iron metabolism and haemoglobin formation.

Chelated form

CdG COPPER contains copper in a chelated form (as glycine chelate), where the copper is bound to an amino acid.

The chelated form resembles a natural structure

This form resembles the form in which many trace elements also occur in natural feed. In chelated form, the trace element travels bound to an amino acid, which makes it different from traditional inorganic mineral compounds, where the trace element is present as a simple mineral salt.

Chelated trace elements are often the preferred choice in equine mineral feeding when you want to add trace elements to the diet in a balanced, safe, and highly bioavailable form.

Copper in equine feeding

Copper is one of the essential trace elements for horses. It is linked to, among other things, the nutritional background of connective tissue, skin and coat.

Adequate copper intake is important for horses of all ages. Especially in growing foals, copper is one of the key trace elements for normal growth and development.

Basic feeds often contain relatively little copper, which is why copper intake is typically ensured through mineral feeds.

The approximate total daily copper requirement from feed for a horse is, for example:

Adult horse: approx. 100–125 mg
Foal (7–12 months): approx. 60–80 mg

Carrot powder

The carrot powder used in this product naturally contains beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A), which is part of the normal nutritional support for skin and mucous membranes.

Dosage

Adult horses (approx. 500 kg)

1,5–2 scoops per day, mixed into the feed.

1 scoop contains approx. 62,5 mg copper

Daily dose (1,5–2 scoops) contains approx.
94–125 mg copper

Foals (7–12 months)

1–1¼ scoops per day

Daily dose contains approx.
62,5–78 mg copper

The amount of copper obtained from other feed sources should be taken into account when dosing.

Composition

Inulin, carrot powder, chelated copper (3b413) and a pinch of love 🧡

Additives / kg

Nutritional additives

Copper (3b413) 2 500 mg

Note on dietary balance

Zinc, copper, iron and selenium are among the essential trace elements for horses. It is also important to consider the copper-to-zinc ratio in the diet, with the recommended level being approximately 1 : 4.
