Hemp protein is a protein made from domestic hemp seed, from which most of the oil has been extracted. Hemp protein is high in protein (35%) but relatively low in fat (11%). This makes it a good protein supplement without excess energy or fat. It is ideal, for example, for horses that exercise hard but are efficient feed users and are 'weight watchers', as well as for sport horses that need extra protein to help them gain muscle mass. Hemp protein is also rich in fibre, which is important for stomach function and digestion.
Hemp protein is efficiently absorbed by the horse and is suitable for increasing and maintaining muscle mass and normal muscle function. An excellent supplement to the basic diet.
NOTE! The composition of the product has been changed from pellets to shavings.
Dosage:
As required: 1dl - 10 dl.
1 tsp weighs about 60g.
Note: Hemp products have been found to contain small amounts of cannabinoids, which are on the Hippos and FEI list of banned drugs. Hemp products are not recommended for racehorses or a 4 day withdrawal period is recommended.
