NOTE! NEW RECIPE AND FORMULATION

CdG ZINC contains organic amino acid chelated zinc in a highly absorbable form.

Zinc is a trace element that the horse needs daily from its diet. It is present in all body tissues and is involved in many normal metabolic processes in the body, such as the formation of proteins and collagen and normal growth and development.

Zinc is also involved in the structure of the horse's hooves, skin, hair and horns. Adequate zinc intake is an important part of a balanced diet and the horse's trace element intake.

Organic form

CdG ZINC contains zinc in an organic form (glycine chelate), where zinc is bound to an amino acid.

The organic form resembles the natural structure

This form resembles the form in which many trace elements also occur in natural food. In the organic form, the trace element is transported bound to an amino acid, which makes it different from traditional inorganic mineral compounds, where the trace element occurs as a simple mineral salt.

Organic trace elements are therefore often the preferred choice of mineral feed for horses when the aim is to provide trace elements in a balanced and well-absorbed form.

Zinc in horse feed

The horse's hooves, skin, hair and horsehair are made up of proteins and structural compounds, the formation of which also requires trace elements. Zinc is one of these nutritional requirements.

Adequate zinc intake is therefore an important part of a balanced diet, especially in situations where attention is required to the nutritional background of hooves, coat and skin.

Hay and cereals often contain relatively little zinc, which is why zinc is usually supplemented through mineral feeds.

In growing horses, mares in training, pregnant and lactating mares, the need for zinc is often greater than in horses with idle capacity.

An example of an indicative daily requirement of total dietary zinc for a horse is:

For a gelding/light work: about 500 mg
Training/hard work: about 600 mg
Foal (7-12 months): about 300 mg

Carrot powder

The carrot powder used in the product contains natural beta-carotene (a precursor of vitamin A), which is part of the normal nutritional balance of the skin and mucous membranes.

Dosage

Adult horses (approx. 500 kg)
1-1½ scoops per day with feed.

The daily dose contains approximately
360-540 mg zinc

Foals (7-12 months)
½-1 measure per day.

The daily ration contains about
180-360 mg zinc

1 measure (40 ml) ≈ 30 g

1 measure contains about 360 mg zinc

The dosage should take into account the amount of zinc from other dietary sources.

Composition

Inulin, carrot powder, organic zinc chelate (3b607) and a pinch of love 🧡

Additives / kg

Nutritional additives
Zinc (3b607) 12 000 mg

Note on feeding balance

Zinc, copper, iron and selenium are essential trace elements for the horse. It is also important to take into account the copper/zinc ratio, which is recommended to be around 1:4.
