A horse loses approximately 20-25 grams of salt daily through sweating, urine, and manure. A horse sweating during heavy work can lose over 100 g of salt from its body in one hour.

Adequate salt intake ensures the horse's electrolyte and fluid balance and supports normal muscle function and recovery. Himalayan rock salt granules ensure the horse's daily sodium intake.

The salt can be added to the feed or mixed into lukewarm drinking water, for example after training, to restore fluid and electrolyte balance.
