Valerian

Valerian root is used to calm and relax nervous and tense horses. Can be used in 3 - 4 days before the exciting / stressful situation. Valeriana can also affect as a mood enhancer. At high doses, valerian affects the central nervous system functions and reduces blood pressure.

When competin, keep in mind the four day withdrawal period and note that valerian may cause fatigue. Valerian can be used to trigger muscle cramps and spasms, and alleviate stomach upset and stomach cramps.


Dosage horse 500 kg : 1 - 3 tablespoons(5 -15 g) / day mixed with other feed.

1 tbsp = 6 g

1 dl = 35 g
